The Sarah Bra™ Story

The Sarah Bra™ was named after Sarah Lorenz, an occupational therapist for more than 25 years. She is recognized and respected by her peers and patients for her creative solutions to challenging problems.

Sarah’s work with women patients made her aware of their struggle to dress–particularly when it came to putting on their bra.

The patented Sarah Bra™ design was her creative solution. Now, for the first time, there is a bra that not only meets the need but is attractive and comfortable.

A Businesswoman and a Therapist

Wear Ease, Inc. was founded by sisters, Phyllis Keith and Sarah Lorenz. Phyllis has a business background spanning 27 years with two Fortune 500 companies, including finance, adult education and marketing. Sarah, OTR/L, has been an occupational thereapist for more than 25 years. Together, their understanding of the need for the Sarah Bra™ by Wear Ease® and how it could be marketed made an ideal foundation for the business.

Phyllis excels at recognizing needs and implementing problem-solving strategies and techniques. Her corporate experience includes developing product marketing plans and distribution strategy for a $4 billion (annual sales) business.

Sarah has extensive experience in developing customized solutions for individuals’ needs when nothing was readily available. Over the years, this has led to increased recognition of the need for supportive, comfortable clothing that also would provide style and dignity.

Both women grew up on the family farm where adapting and innovating were a way of life. “If one could not create it, sew it or grow it, one didn’t need it.”

The Growing Need

Currently, about one in five Americans have some kind of disability. With the population aging and the likelihood of having a disability increasing with age, the growth in the number of people with disabilities can be expected to accelerate in the coming decades. In addition to an aging population, our society is experiencing more lifelong learning, increasing costs of quality health care, living longer, and working longer. All these trends increase the need for adaptive products and solutions like the Sarah Bra™ by Wear Ease® and the Wear Ease® Shoe Fastener Kit.
